Zal Cleminson's /sin' dogs/ : 'Volume 1'- iconic former Sensational Alex Harvey Band
‘Vol. 1’ – the new album: release date TBC + ‘Live’ UK dates & festivals
The legendary Zal Cleminson is back with his new band /sin’dogs/.
Widely respected for his work with The Sensational Alex Harvey Band and cited by many respected guitarists as an influence, Zal provided his incendiary guitar and writing throughout the bands original incarnation, including the seminal albums NEXT, FRAMED and THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM. With SAHB reassembling for ‘live’ work during the early Noughties, including bills with Def Leppard and Cheap Trick, Zal then chose to retire from music. That was, until 2017, fired anew with the excitement of new songs, he set about a fresh assault in music once again. So was born - /sin’dogs/ .
After Alex’s passing, Zal went on to play guitar in Nazareth for several years in the late 70s and early 80s, and also worked as a session musician touring with Elkie Brooks, Bonnie Tyler,
and Midge Ure.
/sin’dogs/ completed a very successful debut tour of the UK in November/December 2017, releasing their debut EP, which gained fantastic reviews, selling out quicky:
“…the new songs are top notch. Great to see (or rather hear) Zal on form again.
…Loudness. Zal cuts loose with some fine work which ranges from the full on to the solos full of feeling. In parts it reminds me of the old SAHB classic, ‘Anthem’ “
In early 2018, the band convened at Foundry Music Lab in Motherwell to record their debut album, ‘Vol 1’.
