It Bites FD: January 2024 tour dates & album news from Francis Dunnery. Special Guest - John Young
IT BITES FD: ‘RETURN TO NATURAL’ UK TOUR, JANUARY 2024 with Francis Dunnery
Special Guest: John Young (Lifesigns, John Wetton, Bonnie Tyler, etc)
Francis Dunnery’s It Bites finally returned to UK stages in January 2023, resulting in the recently released and critically - acclaimed ‘Live From The Black Country’ limited edition 2cd+blu-ray/audio recording. They will now return to the scene of that phenomenal recording in January 2024, along with shows in Manchester and London.
A new It Bites FD album is being recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales during December 2023 After twenty-four years of absence, Francis Dunnery finally returns to the forefront of his progressive roots and delivers a brand new progressive It Bites album. Whilst this is not a copy of the first three It Bites albums, it delivers all the musicality and melodic qualities that everyone remembers of the band and much, much more. A whole new era in It Bites music.
So. Expect enough classic It Bites tunes to have you crying for your teens and enough of the new It Bites FD album for you to hear that dream again!
Featuring the legendary drummer Chad Wackerman, Bass expert Paul Brown, Keyboards from Tony Turrell and atmospherics from Dave McCracken, ‘Return To Natural’ is lyrically relevant and musically flamboyant. A must for all It Bites fans.
The music is set to be recorded, mixed and mastered using 24 track analogue and mixed and mastered to quarter inch analogue tape. No Plug ins, No Software Instruments, no digital manipulation with timing or tuning and real live rehearsed recordings, remember them?
There will be a vinyl version of the album coming in March 2024 that will not touch the digital arena, which makes ‘Return To Natural’ a true, pure analogue recording. The CD version and digital download versions of the music is produced from the analogue quarter inch master.
The album will be posted and delivered on January 6th 2024 in advance of the UK Tour and is available for pre order right now. Please click the link to pre order. THANK YOU in advance for your support with the production of the album.
Although impossible to pigeonhole, Francis’ distinct style can be jokingly brash and at times irreverent yet he’s also capable of singing achingly beautiful music. Francis first hit the public stage back in the Eighties as lead vocalist and guitarist for the popular progressive rock band ‘It Bites’ and enjoyed early chart success throughout Europe and Asia.
He has since enjoyed a diverse musical career, having written, produced and performed music with some of the most successful artists of his time, artists such as Led Zeppelin’s singer Robert Plant, guitar legend Carlos Santana, Squeeze’s stalwart Chris Difford, Stone Roses’ front man Ian Brown, R&B superstar Lauren Hill, Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett as well as guesting with a host of bands and artists such as Yes, Hootie and the Blowfish and played alongside musical legend Chris Squire in The Syn. He has also turned out more than ten engaging albums of original yet diverse compositions as well as international solo chart hits in various countries throughout the world.
In truth, Francis Dunnery defies labelling. He’s a musician’s musician. In fact, Robert Plant once said, “Francis Dunnery should be a public service.” Right now, Francis is more than ever committed to the personal freedom and individuality of himself and his audience. He continues his philosophical studies and plans on dying when he’s around ninety-six
